2. CLARITY Act Could Still Face Another Vote as Tillis Files Motion to Reconsider

Republican Senator Thom Tillis switched his vote to “no” during the process and subsequently filed a motion to reconsider, preserving a procedural path for another vote in the future. The Block cited a Republican Senate staffer as saying the bill’s path forward remains highly uncertain.

3. Bitcoin Falls Toward $75,700 as Crypto Market Cap Shrinks About 3% in 24 Hours

House Speaker Mike Johnson said he does not support a blanket pause on AI development and that the government plans to convene executives from major AI companies within a week to discuss safety guardrails, transparency and independent audits. The direction of AI regulation remains a major focus of technology policy in Washington.

9. Micron Taiwan Union Maintains Strike Preparations, Seeks 15% Share of Global Operating Profit

A union representing more than 80% of Micron’s employees in Taiwan is calling for a long-term profit-sharing system and has proposed allocating 15% of the company’s global operating profit to employees. People familiar with the matter said Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang plans to attend a September 24 state dinner in Washington linked to US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Reuters noted that AI and advanced chips have become major issues in current US-China technology relations.
