Markets Explode: Nifty Shatters 25,300 Barrier as PSU Banks, Defense & Auto Stocks Rocket Sensex 360 Points Higher
Indian equities just launched into the stratosphere—Nifty smashed through the 25,300 ceiling while Sensex surged 360 points in a powerhouse rally.
PSU banks flexed serious muscle, defense names locked in gains, and auto stocks hit the accelerator. No sector got left behind.

Top gainers & losers intraday
Among the Sensex firms, Tata Consumer Products, Bharat Electronics, Trent, Kotak Mahindra Bank, State Bank of India, Hero Motocorp and Maruti led the gainers. Titan, Tata Steel, Nestle, ITC, Bajaj Finserv and Power Grid shares dipped to trade as major laggards.
A total of 3,024 stocks were traded on the National Stock Exchange, with 1,827 stocks advancing, 1,107 declining, and 90 remaining unchanged.
Seventy-two stocks such as JSW Steel, Manappuram Finance, izmo, Dalmia Bharat and Aadhar Housing Finance hit their 52-week highs, while 19 stocks recorded 52-week lows. On the circuit front, 89 stocks, including Ramco Systems, were in the upper circuit, and 31 were in the lower circuit.
Midcap & smallcap movers
Under the midcap segment, Aditya Birla Fashion, Kalyan Jewellers, Cochin Shipyard, Bank of Maharashtra and KPIT Tech soared 3-5 per cent. Vodafone Idea, NHPC, Marico, Glenmark and Aditya Birla Capital declined a little over 1 per cent.
GRSE, MCX, Zen Tech, IFCI and Data Patterns led the gainers of smallcap index, with 4-7 per cent uptick. Godfrey Phillips, IndiaMart, Welspun Corp, Devyani International and PPL Pharma dropped 1-2 per cent.
On the BSE, KNR Constructions, PC Jeweller, GRSE, Dhani and Shaily Engineering zoomed 6-8 per cent, while Moschip, Home First, Gland Pharma, Britannia and Jubilant Pharma depreciated 2-3 per cent.
