Market rebound: Sensex climbs 440 pts, Nifty nears 25,200 level; Kotak Mahindra, L&T, Axis Bank lead gainers

Indian equities stage powerful rebound as banking and infrastructure giants fuel rally.

Heavyweight financials and industrial names drive broad-based recovery—proving once again that old economy stocks still move markets when crypto takes a breather.

Kotak Mahindra, L&T, and Axis Bank spearhead gains, showcasing institutional confidence returning to traditional sectors.

The Nifty's push toward 25,200 signals renewed bullish momentum—because sometimes even legacy markets remember how to rally.

Top gainers & losers intraday

Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank, Larsen & Turbo, Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel, JSW Steel and NPTC led the gainers of Nifty 50 pack. Shriram Finance, Tata Consumer Products, Bajaj Finance, Titan and Nestle declined to trade as major laggards.

A total of 2,980 stocks were traded on the National Stock Exchange at the time of writing, out of which, 1,935 advanced, 938 declined and 107 remained unchanged.

A total of 79 stocks touched their 52-week high such as Amber, Axiscades, Dalmia Bharat and Aadhar Housing Finance, whereas 16 hit their 52-week low. Meanwhile, 84 stocks, including Reliance Power and Steelcast, were locked in the upper circuit and 12 in the lower circuit.

Midcap & smallcap movers

GMR Airport, Tata Consumer, Bharti Hexacom, MRF and M&M Finance soared 2-4 per cent among the midcap index, while Max Health, Ola Electric, Vodafone Idea, BSE and MFSL declined 1-2 per cent.

Under the smallcap segment, Aegis Logistics, Godfrey Phillips, Aadhar HFC, Tejas Networks and Neuland Lab led the gainers with 4-8 per cent rally.
