Sensex up 200 pts, Nifty reclaims 25,000 level amid IT stocks rally

Indian markets roar back as tech giants lead the charge—proving once again that algorithms outperform analyst predictions.

Breaking Through Resistance

The Sensex climbed 200 points while the Nifty reclaimed the 25,000 level—a psychological barrier that had traders sweating just sessions ago.

IT Sector Fueling the Fire

Software and services stocks delivered explosive gains, dragging the entire index upward while traditional sectors watched from the sidelines.

Market Momentum Builds

Investors pile into growth narratives as institutional money shifts toward digital infrastructure—because nothing says 'stable investment' like volatile tech stocks.

Another day, another rally built on speculative momentum rather than fundamental value—because who needs earnings when you have hype?

Top gainers & losers

Among the Sensex pack, Infosys, HUL, TCS, Eternal and Wipro led the gainers, while Shriram Finance, Bajaj Finance, BEL, Tata Motors and Bajaj Finserv depreciated the most.

Market breadth on the National Stock Exchange remained positive as out of 2,916 stocks traded, 1,736 advanced, while 1,099 declined and 81 remained unchanged. A total of 67 stocks touched their 52-week high, including Paytm, Eternal, Ashok Leyland, Maruti and Delhivery, while 23 (including Khadim) hit a 52-week low.

On the circuit front, 92 stocks such as SML Isuzu and BGR Energy were locked in the upper circuit, whereas 31 stocks hit the lower circuit, indicating a stronger bias towards buying interest.

Midcap & smallcap performers

Under the midcap segment, Vodafone Idea, SJVN, Colgate, Indus Towers and Coforge surged 3-4 per cent, while Aurobindo Pharma, Muthoot Finance, Lupin, Petronet and Bharat Forge declined 1-4 per cent.

Neuland Lab, Reliance Power, Aegis Logistics, Sonata Software and First Cry zoomed 4-6 per cent of the smallcap basket, Aditya Birla Real Estate, Manappuram, Karur Vysya, Five-Star and PNB Housing depreciated 1-3 per cent.

On the BSE, Ola Electric, Godfrey Phillips, Protean eGov rallied 11-14 per cent. Nazara Tech, TI, KIOCL, Aurobindo Pharma and Sterlite Tech dragged 4-8 per cent.

In addition, a mix of sectoral stocks — defence (HAL), gaming (Nazara), metals (Vedanta), auto components, industrials and energy (Lloyds Metals & Energy, Dynamic Cables, and Endurance Technologies) — are in focus reflecting a market reacting to new orders, regulatory updates and anticipation of policy-led demand revival.
