R3 Leans on Solana to Drag Institutional Money and Real-World Assets Onto the Blockchain

Wall Street’s favorite blockchain whisperer, R3, just hitched its wagon to Solana—because nothing says ’institutional adoption’ like betting on the chain that keeps bouncing back from the dead.

Real-world assets (RWAs) are the new shiny object in crypto, and R3 aims to be the middleman charging vig on the migration. Because if there’s one thing finance loves more than innovation, it’s a toll bridge.

Solana’s speed wins again, even as TradFi dinosaurs still think ’blockchain’ means Excel macros. The race to tokenize everything just got a turbo boost—whether the suits are ready or not.

R3 brings $10 billion in RWAs to Solana

The partnership will also bring 10 billion dollars in regulated real-world assets from R3’s platform to Solana. These include bonds, securities, and other assets issued by financial institutions on Corda. According to Lily Liu, president of the Solana Foundation, the integration marks a major step toward institutional adoption of public blockchain infrastructure.

Private blockchains continue to serve a key use case for enterprises and financial institutions. They provide an Immutable ledger for storing critical data, including transactions, accounts, and supply chain records. Unlike public blockchains, however, only approved participants can access or interact with the data.
