Conflux just dropped a bombshell—its testnet is getting a hardfork upgrade to v3.0.0. Here’s why it matters.

The Tech Behind the Hype

No fluff, just facts: Conflux’s upgrade promises faster transactions, lower fees, and enhanced scalability. The kind of stuff that makes traders foam at the mouth—until the next shiny thing distracts them.

Why This Isn’t Just Another Upgrade

Hardforks can make or break networks. Conflux’s v3.0.0 isn’t just tweaking the engine—it’s rebuilding it. Expect either fireworks or a spectacular faceplant. (Place your bets now.)

The Cynical Take

Another day, another ‘game-changing’ crypto upgrade. Will this one actually deliver, or is it just fuel for the next pump-and-dump? Only your portfolio—and time—will tell.

Conflux (CFX) Network Announces Testnet Hardfork Upgrade for v3.0.0

Conflux (CFX) Network has announced a significant testnet hardfork upgrade to version 3.0.0, which will require all nodes to upgrade before the epoch number reaches 223340000, estimated to occur on July 1, 2025. This upgrade is crucial for maintaining compatibility with the Conflux protocol, as specified by the Conflux Forum.

Upgrade Details and Timeline

The upgrade will enable CIP-156 when the Proof of Stake (PoS) block number hits 2745000, which is projected to be on July 2, 2025. Node operators and miners are urged to update their nodes promptly to avoid disruptions in block synchronization, mining, and other functionalities.

For early upgraders, the process involves replacing the current conflux.exe file with the updated version in the Conflux v3.0.0-testnet under the run directory and restarting the node. Those who upgrade after the specified epoch number will need to delete all existing data and restart the node with the latest version.

Potential Impact on Node Operators

Failure to upgrade nodes to the latest version will result in incompatibility with the updated Conflux protocol, effectively disabling functions such as block synchronization and mining. This makes it imperative for node operators to comply with the upgrade requirements to ensure continued participation in the Conflux Testnet.

The Conflux team has expressed gratitude towards its community and developers for their continued support and contributions, emphasizing the collaborative effort required to enhance the ecosystem's future.

For more detailed information on the upgrade, the official announcement can be accessed on the Conflux Forum.
