Geopolitical shockwaves hit global markets as BRICS nations rewrite energy trade rules.

Sanction-Busting Strategy

Moscow and New Delhi execute oil deals through alternative payment channels—bypassing Western financial systems entirely. No SWIFT? No problem. They're leveraging bilateral agreements and commodity-backed settlements that make traditional banking sanctions look downright archaic.

Energy Realignment Accelerates

The move signals broader decoupling from dollar-dominated trade. BRICS members increasingly settle transactions in local currencies and commodities—creating de facto shadow financial networks that operate outside IMF oversight. It's the kind of financial innovation that would make a Wall Street banker sweat through their custom suit.

New World Order Pricing

Global oil benchmarks increasingly ignore these off-book transactions—creating a parallel pricing system that's about as transparent as a hedge fund's fee structure. Meanwhile, traditional energy markets keep pretending the old rules still apply.

BRICS Oil Remains In the Limelight

Vortexa experts added that Russian seaborne oil exports are too big a part of India’s hydrocarbon purchases for it to lose them. BRICS members are making the most out of the competitive oil prices and procuring them from Russia.Vorexta wrote.

Apart from India, BRICS member China is also the top buyer of Russian oil. The two countries have been settling payments in the Chinese yuan and not the US dollar. With India, Russia is accepting the ruble and, to some extent, the rupee.Vorexta added.

If the US fails to stop Russia from selling oil at cheaper rates, the BRICS countries would gain the most. Even with sanctions, Western pressures, Trump’s threats and tariffs, the alliance is committed to walking its course. The WHITE House will be on the losing side if the development continues, highlighting that its global influence is waning.
