$618 Million Token Tsunami: Pyth Network and AltLayer Lead This Week’s Unlock Onslaught

PYTH and ALT lead cliff unlocks

This week, PYTH leads with 2.13 billion tokens valued at $324.09 million scheduled for release between May 19 and May 26. This unlock represents 58.62% of PYTH’s unlock supply.

ALT ranks second-largest cliff release, with 240.10 million tokens valued at $8.27 million to be released. That amounts to 7.34% of the ALT unlock supply. Although significantly smaller than the dollar value of the PYTH unlock, it remains a significant portion of the token’s total supply.

The third major unlock in the cliff style comes from VENOM. It has 59.26 million tokens worth $6.13 million currently available. This is 2.51% of VENOM’s entire unlock supply.

Combined, these three cliff-style unlocks will release tokens valued at approximately $338.49 million into the market. This is about 55% of the total value of all tokens being unlocked during the period. The outsized impact of the PYTH unlock is particularly noteworthy. This is because it comprises more than 96% of the cliff unlock value and over 52% of the total value of all unlocks scheduled for the week.

Solana tops linear unlocks

SOL continues to lead the category of linear token unlocks, with 465,770 SOL tokens valued at $78.64 million scheduled for gradual release. Despite this substantial dollar value, the unlock represents only 0.09% of Solana’s circulating supply.

Worldcoin (WLD) follows as the second-largest linear unlock, with 37.23 million tokens worth $43.18 million set to be released. This amounts to 2.69% of WLD’s circulating supply.

Several other tokens will see sizeable linear unlocks during this period. Dogecoin (DOGE) will release 96.52 million tokens worth $21.90 million (0.06% of supply), while TAO will unlock 50,400 tokens valued at $21.04 million (0.59% of supply). TIA follows with 6.96 million tokens worth $18.72 million (1.10% of supply).

Other notable linear unlocks include Avalanche (AVAX) with 700,000 tokens valued at $15.83 million (0.17% of supply), SUI with 3.35 million tokens worth $12.89 million (0.10% of supply), and several others including MORPHO, ETHFI, IP, DOT, NEAR, JTO, and FIL, each with unlocks valued between $7-12 million.

Combined, these linear unlocks account for approximately $280 million of the total $618 million in token unlocks scheduled for the week. solana alone makes up 28% of the linear unlock value.

Less popular unlocks

Beyond the major token unlocks, several smaller projects are also scheduled to release tokens during the May 19-26 period. These less prominent unlocks may not generate as much market attention but could still impact their respective token prices.

According to the data from CoinMarketCap, REVOLAND TOKEN (REVO) has an unlock progress of 67.39%. The next unlock will release 1.32 million REVO tokens valued at approximately $36,837. This accounts for 1.10% of the total locked tokens.

IMVU (VCORE) shows an unlock progress of 20.35% with an upcoming release of 88 million VCORE tokens. This is valued at approximately $39,656. This accounts for 1.10% of the total locked VCORE tokens. Aventis Metaverse (AVTM) has progressed through 73.05% of its unlocks with 19.99 million AVTM tokens scheduled for release, worth about $1,515.

Script Network (SCPT) has completed 75.44% of its unlocks, with 37.75 million SCPT tokens worth $27,350 (3.78% of total locked) set to be released next. School Hack Coin (SHC) has an unlock progress of 49.73%, with 6.82 million SHC tokens worth $8,864 (1.36% of total locked) scheduled for release.
