Ethereum Stuns EthCC with Historic On-Chain Time Capsule—10 Years of Disruption Locked in Code
Ethereum just dropped a blockchain mic at EthCC.
The network unveiled an immutable on-chain time capsule to commemorate its decade-long reign as crypto's smart contract king—burying its legacy in the one place even Wall Street can't manipulate: the blockchain.
A Decentralized Trophy Case
No physical plaques or corporate backroom deals here. Ethereum's anniversary monument lives as verifiable code—etched permanently into the chain that birthed DeFi, NFTs, and a thousand 'web3' pitch decks.
The Ultimate Flex
While traditional finance scrambles to tokenize real-world assets, Ethereum tokenized its own history. Take that, BlackRock.
Ten years in, the chain that refuses to die just built its own pyramid—except this one can't be seized, inflated away, or shorted by hedge funds.

The Ethereum Time Capsule will launch on June 30 at EthCC[8] in Cannes, marking the beginning of a month-long window to submit digital artifacts that reflect the Ethereum journey.
A Decade of Ethereum, Captured On-Chain
The Ethereum Time Capsule will collect a wide range of contributions—from personal memories and predictions to memes, messages, artwork, and other on-chain artifacts.
The initiative aims to create a decentralized, tamper-proof archive of Ethereum’s cultural and technical evolution. The submission period will close on July 30, 2025, aligning with the exact ten-year anniversary of Ethereum’s genesis block.
“Celebrating our history is key to nurturing Ethereum’s culture and values,” said Jérôme de Tychey, President of Ethereum-France and founder of EthCC.

Encrypted Today, Revealed Tomorrow
Each submission to the capsule will be encrypted using Shutter Network’s threshold encryption technology. This makes sure that content remains private and tamper-resistant until its official reveal on Ethereum’s 11th anniversary, July 30, 2026. At that time, the entries will be decrypted and permanently recorded on-chain for anyone to explore.
Luis Bezzenberger, Head of Product at brainbot, explains: “By committing encrypted entries on-chain, we can guarantee submissions remain private and unaltered until the coordinated reveal in 2026.”
Open to All, Supporting Ethereum’s Future
Anyone can contribute to the Ethereum Time Capsule for a nominal fee of approximately $2.50 USD (0.001 ETH). All proceeds will go directly to the Protocol Guild, an organization dedicated to supporting the long-term sustainability of Ethereum Core development.
Cheeky Gorilla from Protocol Guild added, “This is a great chance for builders, artists, and devs to come together and reflect on progress over the last 10 years, as we gear up for exciting times ahead.”
Ethereum Price Prediction: $10,000 Target Returns
On-chain data supports the bullish thesis that ETH could reach $10,000 in this cycle. Whale wallets and institutions are steadily accumulating ETH, even as price action remains range-bound. Lookonchain reports SharpLink Gaming acquired $4.82 million worth of ETH OTC, raising its total exposure to $478 million.
Ethereum’s network activity is surging. Daily transactions have topped 1.5 million, and active addresses exceed 356,000—the highest levels since early 2023. Gas fees have jumped 130% in a week, reaching $10.26M, indicating increased demand for DeFi and NFT platforms.
