Ethereum’s Bold Restructuring: How the Blockchain Giant is Rewriting the Rules of Global Finance
Ethereum isn’t just evolving—it’s executing a full-scale protocol overhaul that could redefine its role in the decentralized economy.
The Merge was just the beginning. With sharding now on the horizon and L2 solutions eating traditional finance’s lunch, ETH is positioning itself as the backbone of Web3.
Meanwhile, Wall Street still can’t decide whether to fight decentralized finance or try to profit from it—classic hedge fund paralysis.

Ethereum Foundation Revamps Its ‘Protocol’ Team
The redesigning of the Protocol unit seeks to create tight feedback loops that shorten the transition from research to production. Tim Beiko and Ansgar Dietrichs will manage Layer-1 scaling, Alex Stokes and Francesco D’Amato will focus on Layer-2 expansion, while Barnabé Monnot and Josh Rudolf will enhance user experience.
Dankrad Feist will provide strategic consultancy across all operational pipelines, reinforcing a unified vision. Team leaders commit to ensuring their members meet technical excellence benchmarks, continually improve skills, and make tangible contributions to protocol advancement.
To create a formidable work environment, shared expectations and a culture of high trust are central. Researchers, client developers, and performance engineers will collaborate in the same workspace, seamlessly integrating knowledge into production codes. With smaller but more concentrated teams, complex task responsibilities are clarified, and decision-making and delivery processes are accelerated.
Prioritizing Layer-1 Scaling, Blobs, and User Experience
The new strategy revolves around three Core objectives: enhancing Layer-1’s transaction capacity, refining the data path post-proto-danksharding, and delivering seamless experiences to everyday users. The verifiability advantage of zkEVMs maintains inherent security while allowing expansion in transaction volumes. Meanwhile, Layer-2 solutions, as a root network, bring additional value to Ethereum, aiming to implement these technical leaps with a cohesive timeline and elevate network values (security, censorship resistance, openness) to a planetary scale.
The Protocol team aims to update management tools to gather and act on healthy signals from the community. A talent search commences for two key positions, user experience leader and performance engineering leader. Moreover, the Foundation welcomes exceptional candidates aligned with its mission.
Through high-standard collaborations with stakeholders, the Ethereum Foundation aspires to retain its pivotal role in Ethereum’s core development.
