Decentralization just got a major upgrade—Blockdaemon and Obol are merging forces to crack open Ethereum's staking monopoly.

The validator shakeup nobody saw coming

By integrating Obol's distributed validator tech (DVT), Blockdaemon's institutional clients can now split validator keys across multiple nodes—slashing single-point failure risks while keeping yields juicy. Finally, a hedge against those 'oops-we-lost-your-keys' moments.

Why TradFi should be sweating

While banks still push 0.01% APY savings accounts, this collab proves DeFi's infrastructure is outpacing legacy finance at lightspeed. Bonus point: validators won't need to grovel to centralized exchanges for delegation scraps anymore.

Game theory wins again—unless the SEC finds a way to fine distributed nodes individually.

Blockdaemon, a prominent blockchain infrastructure entity, has announced its new partnership with Obol Collective, a decentralized platform devoted to improving security in ethereum ($ETH) staking. The partnership endeavors to bolster institutional staking for enterprises, custodians, and exchanges. The platform took to social media to reveal this development.

It's official, @BlockdaemonHQ is upgrading to Distributed Validators!

This partnership is a major milestone — Blockdaemon runs infrastructure for 400+ institutions and secures over $110B+ in assets.

Together, we are creating the new standard for institutional staking.

Blockdaemon and Obol Collective Collaborate to Broaden Institutional Staking

The partnership between Blockdaemon and Obol Collective is focused on enhancing staking for institutions. As a prominent institutional-scale node operator, Blockdaemon drives staking services for enterprises, custodians, and exchanges. Now, in collaboration with Obol Collective, it incorporates Distributed Validators into the staking ecosystem thereof. This indicates a significant step to enhance decentralization, performance, and resilience in staking on Ethereum and the rest of the proof-of-stake platforms.

Demetrios Skalkotos, Blockdaemon’s Chief DeFi and Protocols Officer, also commented on this development. As per him, the efficient distributed validators of Obol Collective denote a noteworthy advancement within the world of infrastructure and staking sector. It discards single failure points and improves scalability and security.

Setting Benchmark for Wider Institutional Staking with Finest Security and Risk-Adjusted Returns

Apart from that, DV Labs’ VP of Ecosystem, Anthony Bertolino, also expressed thoughts on this initiative. The executive stressed the significance of this development, saying that institutions require infrastructure that enhances security, risk-adjusted returns, and performance. Keeping this in view, Obol Distributed Validators provide all these things. Moreover, the adoption of Blockdaemon also establishes an exclusive benchmark for broader institutional staking.
