I have an old
Bitcoin address that I used in the past. I'm wondering what happens to such addresses when they are no longer in use. Do they expire or get recycled? Are they still linked to my identity in any way?

This means that regardless of the age of the address, you can still receive payments at it.

However, it is important to note that reusing old addresses is not recommended for security reasons.

BitPay wallet encourages users to generate new addresses for each transaction to enhance privacy and security.

By using new addresses, you can make it more difficult for others to track your transactions and identify your wallet.

Funds that are sent to old addresses will continue to be credited to your BitPay wallet balance.
