Do you need 32 ETH to stake?

I'm just curious, do you actually need to hold 32 ETH in order to stake? I've heard different numbers floating around, and I'm trying to get a clear picture of what's required. Could you clarify for me, please? I'm interested in participating in staking but I'm not sure if I have enough ETH yet. Could you explain the staking requirements in detail?
