Jensen Huang Rejects AI Doomsday Claims as Fabricated; Trump Backs Data Centers
wallstreetcnNVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang publicly rejected "AI doomsday" claims at the All-In Summit 2026, calling such predictions fabricated and lacking scientific basis. He also defended "recursive self-improvement (RSI)" technology, emphasizing it is a controllable engineering logic. During the summit, U.S. President Donald Trump called in live, bluntly calling the doomsday predictions "all a scam" and backing data center construction as "the oil of the next 20 to 25 years." Their statements strongly endorsed the AI accelerationist stance.
Jensen Huang Debunks Doomsday Predictions One by One: These Predictions Were All Wrong
On stage, Huang directly named the most widely circulated AI panic predictions of recent years and compared them with reality:
"Some predicted that radiologists would be completely replaced by AI within five years, but the opposite happened—we need more radiologists than ever."
"Some predicted that 90% of code would be generated by AI within six to twelve months—wrong. Some predicted that 50% of entry-level jobs would disappear within six to nine months—also wrong."
He also mentioned that GPT-2 and Llama 3 were once considered "too dangerous to release," and predictions like "half of white-collar jobs will disappear next year" all failed to materialize.
Huang's conclusion was blunt: "These predictions are not based on science, not based on research. All evidence based on science and research points in the opposite direction. This is fear of the unknown."
He also said that regarding a recent blog post by Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, he believes the safety-related parts deserve serious attention, but the "scientific predictions" about the future are "clearly lacking scientific basis." "It is irresponsible for a scientist to say something that is not science," he said.
RSI Is Not Magic: Huang Explains the Engineering Logic of Recursive Self-Improvement
Addressing the recently hotly debated recursive self-improvement (RSI) technology, Huang offered his technical assessment.
"RSI is a combination of systematic ideas," he said. "From in-context learning, skill accumulation, reflection mechanisms, to reinforcement learning and synthetic data generation—these are all very reasonable ideas that enable AI to continuously improve at problem-solving."
He further explained that through low-rank adaptation methods like LoRA, model capabilities can be enhanced without retraining the base model; over time, the accumulated experience can be used to retrain the base model, making the entire process fully controllable from an engineering standpoint.
Huang believes the term "RSI" is being "weaponized" by some to deliberately create the impression that the technology will "spiral out of control." His rebuttal is simple: "You can do RSI internally within a company, but when you release a product, you must evaluate it, you must test it, you must ensure there are no regressions. The basic engineering control processes are right there."
Trump Calls In Live: Data Centers Are the Oil of the Next 20 Years
During the summit's NVIDIA strategy breakdown segment, Trump suddenly called Huang and was connected to the venue's sound system, speaking live to thousands of attendees.
Trump said: "This whole thing is a scam. Data centers are great—they make people rich, they make states rich. It's the oil of the next 20, 25 years, much bigger than the internet."
He also criticized some voices opposing data center construction as "serving people who don't want America to succeed," and stated clearly: "Robots will not rule the world, AI will not take over the world, the whole thing is a scam."
Trump also mentioned that about $20 trillion in investment is currently flowing into the U.S., contrasting it with less than $1 trillion under the previous administration.
After the call, Huang said Trump was able to "see through this scam" and maintained his stance even as polls showed opposition voices dominating, "which takes courage."
NVIDIA's Strategic Logic: How Far Up, How Low Down
On capital allocation and ecosystem strategy, Huang articulated NVIDIA's core principle: "Go as high as possible, but stay as low as possible."
He explained that NVIDIA's goal is to help the entire ecosystem succeed, not to carve out a piece for itself. "If NVIDIA hadn't created cuDNN, none of the frameworks would exist. If we hadn't created Megatron Core, large-scale training wouldn't have happened. We invent the necessary technology and then let a hundred flowers bloom."
After acquiring Hugging Face, NVIDIA's open-source strategy has become increasingly clear. Huang revealed that NVIDIA currently has cutting-edge open-source models in five verticals, including autonomous driving and biomedicine, such as the world's first "thinking autonomous vehicle" Alpamayo and the protein synthesis model Proteina Complexa.
He emphasized that NVIDIA's logic for entering these fields is "customers need it, and they don't yet have the capability to do it themselves," rather than proactively disrupting competitors.
On the financing ecosystem, Huang mentioned that NVIDIA is working with institutions like Blackstone and Goldman Sachs to provide financing support for AI infrastructure through projects like Cloverleaf, and is continuously expanding regional cloud partner networks in Australia, Southeast Asia, and other regions.
In Some Areas, Superintelligence Has Already Arrived: Huang's Technical Assessment
At the end of the summit, Huang gave his assessment of the current stage of AI development.
When the host asked whether "we have entered the AGI moment," Huang responded: "I think we have too."
He then added his own definitional framework: "When you look at a self-driving car, I don't need it to make me a Chinese crepe, I just need it to drive. In that narrow domain, it is superintelligent—its accident rate is one-tenth that of humans. Protein synthesis, virtual screening—we are already there."
Huang concluded with a call: "I hope we can reduce the drama, and most importantly, we need to move the entire United States forward together. That is how we succeed."
