SK Hynix just hit an all-time high—turns out supplying the silicon for AI's explosive growth pays better than trading meme coins.

The Memory Marvel

While crypto traders were watching charts, SK Hynix quietly perfected the chips powering Nvidia's next-generation AI processors. Their stock surge isn't speculation—it's actual technological progress.

Silicon Gold Rush

The company's breakthrough manufacturing process delivers what every AI developer craves: more power, less energy, and production scalability that actually meets demand. Unlike certain decentralized projects that promise scalability for years.

Wall Street's New Darling

Traditional investors are finally realizing that sometimes the smartest play isn't buying the crypto—it's buying the picks and shovels. Though they'll probably discover blockchain technology around 2030 at this rate.

For context, SK Hynix is a memory chipmaker operating under South Korea’s SK Group. The company shares on the Korea Stock Exchange (KRX) gained nearly 7% as of this writing on Friday. The stock had risen for eight straight trading days before the announcement, driven by bullish AI sentiment across key suppliers. Year-to-date, the shares have grown over 90%.

Investor Optimism Grows

SK Hynix announced that it has developed the world’s first HBM4 and is ready to supply the next-generation memory for ultra-high-performance AI systems. Notably, HBM4 is the fourth generation of high bandwidth memory, an advanced type of computer memory. It delivers much faster data transfer and higher capacity than earlier versions.

SK Hynix describes HBM4 as a significant step beyond today’s AI limits and an important tool for solving future tech challenges. The company plans to grow into a full AI memory provider by offering fast, high-quality memory products for the AI era.

What This Means for Nvidia

Nvidia relies heavily on SK Hynix for its high-bandwidth memory chips, and this latest breakthrough is a clear win for the GPU giant.

With SK Hynix ready to mass-produce HBM4, Nvidia gains early access to the fastest, highest-capacity memory for its next AI and data-center GPUs. Additionally, the new HBM4 technology will allow Nvidia’s upcoming chips to run larger AI models and keep their performance lead. At the same time, the supplier’s technological edge also lowers the risk of memory shortages or production delays at Nvidia.

What Is NVDA’s Stock Price Target?

Since SK Hynix isn’t listed in the U.S., investors often look at Nvidia’s stock outlook.

Turning to Wall Street, analysts remain highly bullish on NVDA stock. According to TipRanks, the stock has received a Strong Buy consensus rating, with 36 Buys, two Holds, and 1 Sell assigned in the last three months. The average Nvidia stock price target is $210.5, suggesting a potential upside of 19% from the current level.
