Ten New Wallets Added to WalletConnect Certified Program

WalletConnect just upped its game—adding 10 fresh wallets to its certified program. The move signals growing industry trust in seamless crypto interoperability.

Why it matters: More certified wallets mean fewer excuses for clunky cross-platform transactions. Users win with smoother swaps, while projects gain credibility by association.

The fine print: Certification doesn’t guarantee immunity from crypto’s favorite pastime—sudden, unexplained downtime during peak trading hours. But hey, at least your wallet won’t leak keys like a Wall Street exec leaks insider tips.

What is WalletConnect Certified?

The program is a community-driven badge awarded to products that meet WalletConnect’s rigorous standards for quality and performance, with the goal of helping users to make informed decisions when researching self-custodial solutions.

To be eligible, wallets need to be among the 50 top providers based on usage or reach, and offer integrations with the likes of Bitcoin, ethereum and Solana. Those given certification are recognized with a gold badge in WalletConnect’s WalletGuide, which it describes as “the ultimate resource for builders and users to discover wallets that adhere to the latest onchain ux standards and innovations.”

Poor on-chain user experiences have "long been one of the biggest barriers to adoption," but this certification program is changing that for the better, said WalletConnect Foundation's founder and director, Pedro Gomes in a statement shared with Decrypt.

"It’s about creating shared expectations for what a great wallet experience looks like: secure, seamless, and intuitive," he said, adding that as the number of chains, users and use cases grows by the day, “WalletConnect Certified gives us a way to scale trust, consistency, and usability together."

Trust Wallet, which was among the first to earn Certified status, says improving usability is "mission critical for bringing crypto to the next billion users." The firm’s CEO Eowyn Chen said that setting shared standards for usability and safety, “raises the bar for everyone and helps ensure that self-custody stays accessible, secure, and intuitive."

Fireblocks' co-founder and chief product officer Idan Ofrat said that the WalletConnect Certified program "brings much-needed clarity to what strong on-chain UX should look like"—something that's invaluable for developers.

Crypto wallets that are yet to get involved are now being invited to apply for WalletConnect Certified, with its organizers telling Decrypt that, "collaboration and shared learning remain essential to improving usability and onboarding the next wave of users."
