BitMEX Doubles Down on Bitcoin Derivatives With New XBTN25 Futures Contract
BitMEX just fired another salvo in the crypto derivatives arms race—launching the XBTN25, a fresh Bitcoin futures product targeting institutional traders. Because what the market really needed was another leveraged instrument to amplify both gains and losses.
The move signals BitMEX’s attempt to reclaim dominance as altcoin mania cools and traders refocus on BTC. No details on leverage yet—but given BitMEX’s history, expect eyebrow-raising multiples.
Wall Street’s still pretending not to watch while secretly adjusting their spreadsheets. Meanwhile, degens are already sizing up positions.

BitMEX has officially launched its latest monthly Bitcoin futures contract, XBTN25, which became available for trading on May 27, 2025, at 04:00 UTC. This addition marks a significant development in the cryptocurrency derivatives space, offering traders more opportunities to engage in Bitcoin futures trading.
Details of the XBTN25 Contract
The XBTN25 contract is part of BitMEX’s broader suite of cryptocurrency derivatives, specifically designed to cater to traders interested in Bitcoin (BTC) futures. The contract will settle on July 25, 2025, providing a structured timeline for traders to strategize their positions.
Current Futures Contracts
Alongside XBTN25, BitMEX offers several other active futures contracts, including XBTK25, XBTM25, XBTU25, and XBTZ25. Each of these contracts has distinct listing and settlement dates, allowing traders to diversify their strategies across different time frames. For instance, the XBTK25, listed on March 25, 2025, is set to settle on May 30, 2025, while the XBTU25, listed on November 18, 2024, will settle on September 26, 2025.
Expanding Opportunities in Bitcoin Futures
