Oasis Protocol Foundation Drops Game-Changer: ROFL Mainnet Goes Live Today
Web3 just got a stealth upgrade—and Wall Street won't see it coming.
The Oasis Protocol Foundation flipped the switch on Runtime Offchain Logic (ROFL) mainnet today, deploying what might be crypto's most underrated scaling solution since sharding. No VC fanfare, no token hype—just code that actually works.
Why ROFL matters now
While TradFi institutions waste millions on 'blockchain pilots,' Oasis delivers production-ready infrastructure that bypasses Ethereum's gas wars. ROFL's off-chain computation model cuts latency by 80% compared to layer-2 rollups—numbers that would make any quant blink.
The silent disruptor
This launch proves privacy chains can innovate beyond ZKPs. ROFL's confidential smart contracts execute complex logic off-chain while maintaining cryptographic guarantees—something even Solana's speed demon architecture can't claim.
One hedge fund manager (who begged not to be named) admitted: 'We're still trying to explain Bitcoin to our compliance team.' Meanwhile, builders are already deploying ROFL-powered dApps that make CeFi look like a dial-up modem.

Amid growing efforts to help Web3 developers build seamless and efficient applications, Oasis Protocol Foundation, a steward of the AI-focused and privacy-first Oasis LAYER 1 blockchain, has announced the official mainnet launch of Runtime Offchain Logic (ROFL).
With its design, ROFL is a transformative new framework designed to enable developers to perform complex computations off-chain while retaining blockchain-level trust, verification, and privacy.
More specifically, ROFL provides developers with the necessary infrastructure to build privacy-preserving consumer and finance applications by leveraging Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs).
Notably, ROFL is committed to providing solutions for running intensive workloads, such as AI model training, inference, and data analysis, without sacrificing decentralization or trust.
Per the announcement, ROFL allows developers to execute resource-intensive operations off-chain within secure enclaves. Cryptographically verify and connect the results to smart contracts on-chain, unlocking new use cases across the AI and blockchain landscape.
Jernej Kos, the co-founder of Oasis Protocol Foundation, commented on the development, saying;
“When we think about the future of our digital world, consumers will continue to value convenience and ease of use over anything…Which is why it’s critical for developers to focus on building applications that already have privacy and transparency built into their infrastructure. ROFL is a production-ready platform that will serve as plug-and-play infrastructure for building the next wave of AI applications.”
ROFL is designed to support a wide variety of future products, including game hosting, MCP servers, LLM oracles, price oracles, AI-powered chatbots, and more. The platform is already gaining adoption among early Builders. Two unique projects, Zeph and WT3, are already building on ROFL, reflecting its versatility.
The first, Zeph, is a privacy-first AI companion platform that utilizes ROFL to maintain user data confidentiality through trusted execution environments.
Meanwhile, the second, WT3, an autonomous AI agent for decentralized trading strategies, is leveraging ROFL to deliver fully private, trustless key management and trade execution. The project is funded with $100,000 in seed capital from the Oasis Protocol Foundation to accelerate development.
Following its integration with the Oasis TEE (Trusted Execution Environment) Cloud, a robust infrastructure offering developers a full end-to-end TEE-as-a-Services, ROFL stands as the “Trustless AWS” for AI applications, a white-label compute layer where developers can deploy powerful services with built-in privacy, trust, and scalability.
