- On Monday, an unknown wallet sent $20,000 to Satoshi Nakamoto. This transfer has caused various kinds of conversations across the crypto space, with some believing that it’s the wallet’s way of giving back while others believe the account might be linked to Satoshi.
- Satoshi Nakamoto has been recorded to control 5% of Bitcoin’s total supply. This amount of control makes him the 11th richest person on earth.
Satoshi Nakamoto, the father of Bitcoin, recently received $20,000 from an unidentified wallet. The mysterious transfer comes after four months of no single transaction or activity recorded on the wallet.
The transfer to the dormant account has caused many across the crypto space to wonder what the transfer implies and why exactly Satoshi is receiving money, while others have predicted that the transfer might have been a transfer or a form of appreciation to the Bitcoin creator.
On Monday, the 30th of June, Arkham Intelligence shared a post on X showing a transfer of $20,000 to Satoshi Nakamoto’s dormant wallet. The original transfer was about 0.185 BTC, equivalent to $20,000. This transfer has stirred different opinions from X users. With some believing that if it truly was sent to appreciate Satoshi, then there was no need for the transfer, and others saying Satoshi needs to be tipped as he “made him rich.”
So far, there has been no clear reason as to why the wallet made the transfer, but based on the last $200,000 transfer made four months ago, there’s a high possibility that old Bitcoin users are trying to give back to Satoshi. Or the wallet that sent the money might have a connection with Satoshi.
Satoshi Nakamoto Controls 5% of Bitcoin Supply
As previously recorded by Tronweekly, Satoshi controls 5% of the total bitcoin supply. According to the details, Satoshi owns about $120 billion worth of Bitcoin, which is 1.96 billion BTC tokens. This huge accumulation of BTC earned Satoshi the 11th richest individual in the world. This level of control shows that Satoshi, although anonymous, still has an upper hand in the workings of Bitcoin.
