Aptos Price Prediction: Can APT Beat Sui and Sei in 2025?

Aptos (APT) is flexing its muscles in the Layer 1 arena—but can it actually dethrone rivals like Sui and Sei by 2025?

Layer 1 Showdown: The Tech Stack Arms Race

Move language versus parallel execution—Aptos’ battle-tested blockchain takes on Sui’s object-centric model and Sei’s turbocharged orderbook infrastructure. Forget ‘vibes,’ this is a specs war.

Adoption Metrics: Where Rubber Meets Road

Mainnet uptime and developer activity don’t lie. While Sui courts gaming studios and Sei dominates perpetuals trading, Aptos’ institutional partnerships could be its Trojan horse.

The Dark Horse Scenario

Watch for Aptos’ ‘voluntary market maker’ program—a sneaky liquidity play that might just bypass the vaporware accusations plaguing other chains. (Because what’s crypto without some creative accounting?)

Prediction: If Aptos hits critical mass before the next hype cycle, we’re looking at a top-15 contender. Otherwise? Just another ‘Ethereum killer’ collecting dust in crypto’s graveyard of overfunded whitepapers.

Aptos Gains Traction as Sui and Sei Competition Heats Up

Aptos, often compared to sui and Sei due to their shared goal of delivering high-performance decentralized infrastructure, has been gaining momentum. All three chains are built on Move, a smart contract programming language originally developed by Meta’s Diem project. However, Aptos appears to be pulling ahead based on several network metrics.

According to Artemis data, the stablecoin supply on Aptos has remained steady at $1.1 billion over the last month—significantly higher than Cardano’s $30 million and well above both SUI and Sei. This suggests increased capital inflow and user confidence in the Aptos ecosystem.

In comparison, while Sui and SEI have made strides in attracting new developers and starting key DeFi initiatives, they have yet to match Aptos’ scale in terms of transaction activity and value locked.

Surging Transaction Volume and DeFi Activity

Aptos is also seeing a surge in user activity. Transaction count on the network ROSE by 53% in the past month to over 65.9 million, while the total transaction volume jumped by an impressive 77% to reach $24.7 billion.

Meanwhile, decentralized exchange (DEX) volume on the Aptos network has hit a record $3.5 billion this month, marking five consecutive months of growth. This surge in trading activity suggests that users are not only exploring the network but actively transacting and engaging in DeFi protocols.

For comparison, both Sui and Sei have experienced DeFi adoption, but not at the same sustained pace or scale. Aptos’ ability to retain and grow liquidity over time gives it a competitive edge in this three-way Layer-1 race.

Total Value Locked (TVL) Approaching All-Time High

Another bullish indicator is the total value locked (TVL) in Aptos protocols, which has grown to $1.2 billion. It is now approaching its all-time high of $1.25 billion, signaling strong user confidence and capital deployment within the ecosystem.

In contrast, while Sui and Sei have also reported TVL growth, they still trail Aptos significantly. The higher TVL indicates more capital is being locked in yield-generating strategies, further strengthening Aptos’ position in the Layer-1 space.

Aptos Remains Among the Fastest Blockchains

Recent data from blockchain analytics platform Nansen ranked Aptos as the third-fastest blockchain over the past week, with 44.7 million transactions and more than 4 million active addresses. This places Aptos ahead of Sui and Sei in terms of user activity and engagement.

Speed and scalability have always been the focus of Aptos, and this continued growth shows the chain is living up to its technical promises. Sui and Sei, while also fast and cost-efficient, still have a smaller user base, suggesting Aptos may be winning the battle for developer and user attention.

Aptos Price Prediction: Breakout Ahead?

From a technical analysis standpoint, Aptos appears to be forming a falling wedge pattern, which is widely regarded as a bullish indicator. The token has started to MOVE above its 50-day exponential moving average (EMA), with RSI and MACD indicators also trending upward.

If bullish momentum continues, APT could soon break out toward the $8.23 resistance level, which corresponds with the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement level. This WOULD represent a substantial gain from current levels and could signal a larger trend reversal.

However, if broader market conditions weaken or Bitcoin undergoes another correction, APT may struggle to maintain upward momentum. Key support remains at $4.20, and a break below this could invalidate the bullish setup.

Final Thoughts: Will Aptos Outrun Sui and Sei?

While Sui and Sei continue to evolve and build out their ecosystems, Aptos is currently ahead in terms of adoption, DeFi engagement, and stablecoin usage. Its growing TVL, user activity, and rising transaction volumes are bullish indicators for long-term potential.

If these trends persist and APT maintains technical support, the next few months could see Aptos outperform its competitors—possibly positioning it as the dominant Move-based blockchain.
