Horizon Secures Game-Changing Connectivity Deal with Bursa Malaysia Derivatives
Breaking the latency barrier—Horizon just wired itself into the bloodstream of Southeast Asia's derivatives market.
Why it matters: When infrastructure players plug into exchanges like Bursa Malaysia, it's not just about faster pipes—it's about claiming territory in the algorithmic arms race.
The subtext: Traders will now get sub-millisecond access to rubber futures, palm oil contracts, and all the exotic instruments that keep hedge funds awake at night (when they're not shorting emerging currencies).
Bonus jab: Because nothing screams 'financial innovation' like shaving microseconds off commodity derivatives that haven't changed since colonial times.

Horizon Trading Solutions, a leading global provider of multi-asset electronic trading technology, announces it is set to provide its connectivity solutions to Bursa Malaysia Derivatives’ Securities Futures Trading System (SFTS).
Bursa Malaysia Derivatives is the national derivatives exchange in Malaysia that offers a diverse range of commodity, equity and financial futures and options tradeable globally. As part of its continuous product development efforts to meet evolving investor demand, Bursa Malaysia Derivatives reintroduced its Single Stock Futures (SSF) listed on SFTS in March 2025, offering new Leveraged trading opportunities to ASEAN investors.
Horizon will develop a gateway that enables all market makers using Horizon’s trading platform to connect seamlessly to SFTS. This integration allows market makers to quote prices and provide liquidity in SSF directly through Horizon’s infrastructure, helping to support a more vibrant and accessible market.
Emmanuel Faure, Head of APAC & EMEA at Horizon Trading Solutions, commented: “We are proud to support Bursa Malaysia Derivatives in the relaunch of its SSF. As a long-standing partner in the region, Horizon is well-positioned to contribute our technology, market expertise, and network to this initiative. SSF offer compelling opportunities for both retail and institutional players, and we are committed to facilitating their efficient access to this market.”
Mohd Saleem Kader Bakas, Director of Bursa Malaysia Derivatives, added: “We welcome Horizon as a vendor supporting market connectivity for SFTS. This initiative complements the Exchange’s ongoing efforts to improve market liquidity and efficiency, ultimately fostering a vibrant trading environment for all market participants.”
This milestone reflects Horizon’s continued commitment to supporting regional exchanges and enhancing access to emerging markets. It also expands Horizon’s presence in Southeast Asia, by providing the infrastructure needed for market makers to participate efficiently in SSF via a single, integrated platform.
