XRP Ledger Validator Drops Bombshell: 3 Game-Changing Upgrades on the Table
Ripple's backbone just got a potential power-up—three major protocol upgrades hit the discussion boards. Validators are buzzing, but will it move the needle for XRP's real-world utility? Spoiler: bankers still hate volatility.
First up: A proposed overhaul of transaction finality that could slash settlement times by 40%. Then comes a new smart contract layer—because what's a blockchain in 2025 without DeFi FOMO? The kicker? Native oracle integration to finally bridge the crypto/tradfi data gap.
Market reaction? Predictably muted. XRP price barely twitched—because nothing screams 'adoption' like institutional traders ignoring your tech upgrades while chasing the next memecoin.
Vet shared news features for XRPL Upgrade | Source: X
The smart transactors feature could bring some advanced transaction features to XRPL which WOULD be useful for developers to build custom logic directly into transactions without needing extra tools or smart contracts. This, in fact, can help power things like automated payments, digital asset actions, and other blockchain-based tools in a much easier way.
Meanwhile, VET also mentioned in another tweet yesterday that the upgrade would include support for token-enabled escrows under XLS-85d, which would allow users to lock other tokens aside from XRP. Tokens like stablecoins (e.g., RLUSD), real-world asset tokens, and memecoins will be able to lock this way.
There’s also another upcoming feature called XLS-56d batch transactions. It will offer users the ability to combine up to eight transactions into one.
