CZ Issues Fraud Alert: No Autobiography Exists—Beware of Scams
Binance's former CEO drops truth bomb—his memoir doesn't exist. Yet scammers are already cashing in.
Fraudsters pivot faster than regulators: Fake 'CZ autobiographies' hit crypto forums just weeks after his sentencing. The irony? They're probably making more than most shitcoins this bull cycle.
How to spot the scam:
- No verified publisher (obviously)
- Requests for crypto payments (double obviously)
- Claims of 'insider Binance secrets' (triple obviously)
CZ's actual focus? Serving his sentence and—if past form holds—quietly accumulating BTC while the scams unfold.
Fraudulent book launch rumors
The warning comes as several online platforms and social media channels have been promoting a newly released book featuring CZ’s image and promising insider details on Binance’s formation and the secrets of crypto wealth. The rumors appear aimed at exploiting users in the name of one of the industry’s most prominent figures.
CZ debunks fake rumors
CZ addressed the issue, confirming he has not released the book.
The news comes amid intense public interest in Zhao’s personal life and future plans. For background, CZ stepped down as CEO of Binance in November 2023 after pleading guilty to charges related to money laundering violations. Following a four-month sentence, he was released from U.S. custody in late September 2024.
Since his release, CZ has confirmed that he is actively working on his own autobiography. He mentioned that the book was roughly two-thirds complete, alongside his focus on the Giggle Academy, a non-profit educational project. Scammers are trying to capitalize on this by creating fake versions to defraud the public before the official release.
In October 2025, Changpeng Zhao received a full pardon from U.S. President Donald Trump. The pardon lifted restrictions that had stopped Zhao from running financial ventures. Zhao expressed his gratitude to the president on X.
