Wall Street’s latest crypto darling just flexed harder than expected. Circle—the force behind USDC—is now worth a staggering $66.9 billion after its IPO, leaving its own stablecoin supply in the dust.

From stablecoins to Wall Street’s unstable hype

The numbers don’t lie: investors are betting big on Circle’s future, even if traditional finance still can’t decide whether crypto is the next big thing or a regulatory headache waiting to happen.

A valuation that outpaces reality?

With USDC’s market cap trailing Circle’s new paper valuation, skeptics might call this another case of ‘crypto math’—where the hype adds up faster than the actual assets. But for true believers? Just another stepping stone to mainstream adoption.

One thing’s clear: while bankers debate stablecoin reserves, Circle’s shareholders are cashing in on the ultimate irony—a centralized entity getting rich off decentralized dreams.

Jon Ma, the CEO of blockchain analytics company Artemis, explained that the stock performance shows that the market is pricing in substantial future growth, potentially tied to Circle’s role in the broader stablecoin and payments infrastructure.

According to him, Circle’s valuation is over 24.2 times its Q1 2025 revenue run rate, 60.7 times its gross profit run rate, and 216 times its net income run rate.
