XRPL Developer Shatters Limits with Immutable File Storage & Global Archive System Launch

Breaking new ground in blockchain infrastructure—XRPL developers just dropped a game-changing immutable storage solution that could finally make centralized cloud providers sweat.

The Architecture: Permanent, Tamper-Proof & Global

Built directly on XRPL's decentralized framework, this system archives data with cryptographic certainty—no single point of failure, no corporate middleman, just pure unstoppable redundancy. Imagine storing critical documents, intellectual property, or even historical records without worrying about server farms going offline or CEOs changing terms of service on a whim.

Why This Matters Beyond Crypto

This isn’t just another ‘decentralized’ pitch—it’s a functional archive that operates at a global scale, offering individuals and enterprises alike a way to preserve data indefinitely. Legal contracts, medical records, public archives—all suddenly within reach of true cryptographic permanence.

And for the finance crowd still obsessed with yield farming? Maybe it’s time to store something that actually lasts longer than a hype cycle.

In brief

  • XRPL dev “Vincent Van Code” is building an immutable file storage with notarization and digital signatures.
  • Project expands into a global archive for industries like law, health, and finance with crypto wallet access.
  • Files will comply with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and SEC standards, offering up to 100 years of storage.
  • MVP testnet launches in 2–3 weeks with weekly resets before a full rollout in the coming months.

XRPL-Based Document Notarization Project Set to Launch as Global Archive

In a previous X post, the developer explained that the project initially started as a way to notarize documents on XRPL—using on-chain hashing and digital signatures tied to legal paperwork.

But the idea has since grown into a global archive system that could be used across several industries, from law to even health and finance. Plus, it is designed to be mirrored worldwide and controlled through popular crypto wallets.

For the notarization process, Van Code detailed that when a person or firm uploads a document, the system would create a hash and record it on the XRP Ledger as proof of existence.

A special crypto-based signing system would also enable parties to verify their signatures, alongside additional legal documents, to validate the notarization in court.

According to the dev, the initial target audience includes businesses and law firms. With time, the product will expand to accommodate everyday use cases like medical records or receipts. The pricing model will include multiple tiers—from a free entry-level plan up to a fourth tier, which would require verified (KYC) signatories.

Development Progress: Coding Underway

In a new update, Van Code noted that the coding process, which will provide the backend framework for the product, has commenced. However, the dev stated that during the course of building, the project’s scope had expanded beyond notarization. It now encompasses a broader objective: a permanent, compliance-ready storage solution anchored to XRPL.

Update: we have started coding… What we landed on is quite different to what we set out to do, and it is now a far more meaningful problem we are solving.

The anticipated rollout is expected to provide a 100-year worldwide file storage that runs on XRPL. Importantly, the file is designed to be compliant with global standards like SOC 2, ISO 27001, and SEC regulations.

Van Code mentioned that users will pay an inexpensive one-time fee based on the intended storage timeframe. Access to files will also be tied directly to a user’s crypto wallet, either Xaman (formerly XUMM) for individuals or a custodian service for enterprises.

Testnet Launch on the Horizon

A first MVP testnet is expected to launch in the next 2–3 weeks, during which users can test uploads using test wallets. Files in this phase won’t be permanent and will reset weekly. Van Code credited community feedback for helping shape the expanded vision.

At the same time, the developer described the initiative as a breakthrough, calling it “the world’s first XRPL-powered Immutable forever file storage” and a potential game changer. He encouraged feedback from the public and reiterated that the MVP testnet is expected within two months.

As of press time, XRP is exchanging hands at $2.88, slipping by over 9% in the past four weeks, after trading in a tight price setup.
