Crypto Influencer BitBoy Arrested In Florida After Being Listed As Fugitive

Ben Armstrong, the controversial crypto influencer known online as “BitBoy,” has been arrested in Florida, just days after a warrant had been issued for his arrest.

The Volusia County Division of Corrections confirmed that Armstrong was taken into custody on 25 March 2025. He was listed as a “fugitive from justice,” marking the latest in a series of legal troubles surrounding the former face of BitBoy Crypto.

On 21 March 2025, Armstrong took to X, stating he could “confirm that the warrants for my arrest” stemmed from emails he sent to Cobb County, Georgia Superior Court Judge Kimberly Childs while acting as his own attorney.

Armstrong also alleged that Judge Childs deleted her social media accounts following those emails.

BitBoy Previously Arrested For Livestreaming Lamborghini Dispute

This is not Armstrong’s first run-in with law enforcement. In September 2023, he was arrested while livestreaming outside the home of a former associate, whom he accused of stealing his Lamborghini.

Armstrong has also been embroiled in civil litigation. In March 2023, he was named in a class-action lawsuit alleging he promoted Binance, which the suit claimed sold unregistered securities.

That case was settled in August 2024. Armstrong and co-defendant NBA star Jimmy Butler agreed to pay $340,000 without admitting wrongdoing.

In an unusual twist, Armstrong participated in a celebrity fight night hosted by Karate Combat in February 2024, where he defeated meme coin developer “More Light” in a three-round match in Mexico. Despite the pre-fight tension, the two reportedly made amends afterward.

BitBoy’s brand also took a hit in August 2023 when Hit Network, parent company of BitBoy Crypto, severed ties with Armstrong. The network cited alleged substance abuse and unprofessional conduct—claims Armstrong denied, calling the separation a coup attempt.

Last year, BitBoy faced a class-action lawsuit filed by $BEN coin holders who allege he and his associates engaged in fraudulent promotions. The plaintiffs claim Armstrong made misleading promises of high returns, resulting in significant losses for investors.

Co-defendants included former collaborators tied to BenCoin ATMs and other crypto influencers. The case aligned with another Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) investigation into fraudulent activities involving 15 cryptocurrencies, including $BEN.
