Can you shower with a tether?

Can you shower with 12K gold?
I'm curious, is it even feasible to shower with 12K gold? Wouldn't the water and soap potentially damage the delicate metal? And what about the practicality of it - wouldn't it be incredibly heavy and cumbersome to carry around in the shower?
