What does insufficient BNB balance mean?

Chiara Chiara Wed Feb 19 2025 | 5 answers 1057
I received a notification saying my BNB balance is insufficient. I'm not sure what this means. Could it be that I don't have enough BNB to pay for transaction fees? Or is there another reason for the insufficient balance warning? What does insufficient BNB balance mean?

When users try to send BNB tokens, they may encounter an error message stating "Insufficient BNB."

This occurs when the balance in their wallet is less than the required network fee for the transaction.

The network fee is a necessary cost for processing the transaction on the blockchain.

When sending a token, the fee must be paid by the parent wallet, which is the wallet holding the native currency of the blockchain.

In the case of BNB, the parent wallet would be the wallet holding BNB. The fee cannot be paid by the token itself.
