Where did the Rottweiler originate?

The Rottweiler, a large black and brown breed of dog, originated from the town of Rottweil in southern Germany. They descended from the Molossus, a mastiff-type dog that marched to Germany with the Romans, driving the cattle that sustained them as they conquered the known world.
