Is MetaMask Bridge safe?

I've heard about the recent attack on the Socket protocol, which resulted in a loss of over $3.3 million. Since MetaMask Bridge is also a cross-chain bridge, I'm wondering if it's SAFE to use. I'm concerned about the security of my funds when transferring between chains using MetaMask Bridge.
