What is TBX agar?

TBX agar is a modified culture medium specifically designed for the rapid detection of Escherichia coli in food, water, milk, ice cream, and meat products. When incubated for 24 hours, E. coli colonies appear blue-green, while other bacteria may appear yellow or remain colorless. This medium selectively inhibits the growth of Gram-positive bacteria, allowing for accurate identification of E. coli.
