Will things ever be affordable again?

I'm really worried about the current economic situation. Prices are skyrocketing and it feels like everything is becoming more and more unaffordable. I'm wondering if there's any hope that things will eventually become affordable again, or if we're headed towards a future where only the wealthy can afford basic necessities.
