Can you use Roku on a regular TV?

Excuse me, I'm just curious, but I've been hearing a lot about Roku lately and I'm wondering if it's something that can be used with a regular TV set? I mean, I have a traditional television at home and I'm not really sure if I can connect Roku to it. Is it possible to use Roku on a regular TV, or does it only work with certain types of TVs? I'd appreciate it if you could clear this up for me. Thanks in advance!
