Does gravity ever go up?

I'm curious to know, does gravity ever have the capability to defy its own fundamental principle and actually go up, or is it an Immutable force that always pulls objects towards the center of mass? Could there be any circumstances, perhaps in the realm of theoretical physics or advanced space travel, where gravity might behave in a manner that seems to defy its downward pull? Is it possible for us to manipulate or harness gravity in such a way that it could potentially move upwards, or is that simply a concept beyond our current understanding and technological capabilities?
