Do UX need coding?

I understand that user experience, or UX, is a crucial aspect of any product or service, especially in the world of technology. However, I'm curious about the role of coding in UX design. Does a UX designer necessarily need to know how to code? Is coding a prerequisite for creating a great user experience? Or can a UX designer focus solely on the visual and interactional aspects of a product, delegating the technical side to developers?
