Is BSC now BNB?

Excuse me, could you clarify something for me? I've been hearing a lot about BSC and BNB lately, and I'm a bit confused about their relationship. Are they essentially the same thing, or is there a distinction between the two? I've heard BSC referred to as the Binance Smart Chain, but I'm not entirely sure how it differs from BNB, which I know is the native cryptocurrency of the Binance exchange. Could you please explain the connection and any differences between BSC and BNB? Thank you.
