Is Box the same as DropBox?

Excuse me, but could you clarify something for me? I've come across both "Box" and "DropBox" and I'm a bit confused about the difference between the two. Are they essentially the same service, offering similar cloud storage and file sharing capabilities? Or do they have distinct features and functionalities that set them apart from each other?
