Can you get a password from a hash?

So, I'm curious about something related to cryptocurrency and cryptography. I've heard the term "hash" used quite often, and I understand that it's a one-way function that turns data into a fixed-length string. But what I'm wondering is, can you actually get a password back from a hash? I mean, if someone has the hash of a password, is it possible to reverse the process and figure out what the original password was? I'm just trying to understand the security implications of this and how it affects the safety of my cryptocurrency holdings. Can you get a password from a hash?
