Do I watch a prequel first?

I'm curious about the order in which I should watch a movie series. Specifically, I'm wondering if it's better to start with the prequel or the original film first. I understand that prequels often provide context and background information that can enhance the viewing experience of the original, but I'm also concerned that watching the prequel first might spoil some of the surprises or twists in the original film. What's your take on this? Should I watch the prequel first, or is it better to stick to the traditional order and watch the original first?
