Is UI/UX need coding?

As someone who's interested in delving deeper into this field, I'm curious if UI/UX designers necessarily need to have coding skills. Is it a prerequisite for creating user-friendly interfaces and experiences? Or can one excel in UI/UX design without a solid foundation in coding?
