Can someone track my phone through Bluetooth?

Can someone really track my phone just by using Bluetooth? I've heard rumors that it's possible, but I'm not sure if it's true. I'm concerned about my privacy and want to know if there's anything I can do to prevent my phone from being tracked through Bluetooth. Is there a way to disable Bluetooth or to make sure it's not being used to track me? Also, how does Bluetooth tracking even work?
