Are all velodromes the same?

I'm curious, are all velodromes really identical in design and function? Is there a standard blueprint that all cycling tracks adhere to, or do they differ in size, shape, and features depending on the needs of the athletes and events they host? Surely, the nuances between these arenas must impact the overall cycling experience and the strategies employed by riders, right?
