Does Apple have any free books?

Excuse me, I was wondering if I could possibly get some clarification on something. I was recently perusing through the Apple Store and I noticed a variety of books available for purchase. However, I was wondering if Apple offers any free books as well? I'm always looking for new ways to expand my knowledge and I thought it would be great if I could find some free books to read on my device. Do you happen to know if Apple has any such offerings? I'd appreciate any information you can provide.
