Should I keep 1 or 2 cats?

Hey there, I'm considering getting a pet cat, but I'm not sure if I should get one or two. On one hand, having just one cat seems manageable, but on the other, I've heard that having two can provide them with companionship and keep them entertained. What are your thoughts on this?
