Does the Earth have 3 moons?

Excuse me, but I was wondering if you could clarify something for me. I came across the statement that the Earth has 3 moons, and I'm a bit confused. Is this accurate? As I understand, the Earth has only one natural satellite, which is the Moon. Are there perhaps two other smaller moons orbiting the Earth that I'm not aware of? Or is this just a misconception?
