Is the US only North America?

Is it accurate to say that the United States encompasses the entirety of North America? Surely, the US is a vast and influential country, but does it truly represent the entirety of this continent? North America, after all, spans from the Arctic Ocean in the north to Panama in the south, encompassing countries like Canada, Mexico, and numerous Caribbean nations. So, is the US indeed the sole entity that defines North America, or is it merely one of many important pieces in this diverse and multifaceted region?
