How close is Houston to the Mexican border?

Excuse me, I was wondering if you could clarify something for me. In regards to the distance between Houston and the Mexican border, how close are they exactly? I'm trying to get a better understanding of the geographical proximity and am curious if it's a short drive or a considerable journey. Any insight you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
