Why is my BTC fee so high?

Hello there, I'm wondering if you could help me understand something. I've been noticing that the fees for my BTC transactions have been unusually high lately. Could you possibly explain what might be causing this increase in fees? Is it something to do with the current market conditions, or is there something else going on?
