Can you buy a planet name?

Can you really buy a planet name? I've heard rumors of people registering names of celestial bodies and even trying to sell them, but is this actually possible? Is there some sort of legal framework or authority that governs the naming of planets? And if so, how does one go about acquiring the rights to name a planet? I'm genuinely curious about this and would love to know if there's any truth to the idea of buying a planet name.
