Is PS Vita as powerful as PS2?

So, I've been hearing a lot about the PlayStation Vita lately, and I'm wondering if it's really as powerful as the legendary PlayStation 2. I mean, the PS2 was a game-changer back in the day, with its impressive graphics and vast library of games. Can the Vita really hold up to that kind of standard? I'm sure there are some improvements in terms of portability and maybe even some new features, but when it comes down to raw power and gaming capabilities, is the Vita really on par with the PS2?
